Artist's Statement
These works reflect my time and experience in India,
using the tree as a motif of decay and renewal.
The tree, a universal symbol of life, is now acting in its own drama for survival.
On a personal note, I am attempting to reconcile the conflict/tension that exists between a strongly felt issue,
that of environmental degradation and the visual beauty of a troubled landscape.
